A planning application has been submitted to Allerdale Borough Council for a new LIFT-funded community hospital which will combine GP and community hospital services on one site in 2012.
Dr John Howarth, a Cockermouth GP and NHS Cumbria’s Clinical Director, said: ‘This is an important step for healthcare in Cockermouth and the surrounding area.
