A GP from Bradford is to lead a team of doctors and nurses to offer help to the people affected by the devastating recent floods in Pakistan.
Dr Muhammad Adeel Iqbal is leaving the UK on Friday with his team to spend a week in the provinces of Sindh and Punjab.
The team - put together with the help of charity Kemca - will deliver medical supplies and provide medical care to the local population.
Dr Iqbal said he has raised £4,500 so far in three days and hoped to raise £10,000 by the end of this week.
He said: 'We feel very positive, very enthusiastic and optimistic about this. We will get the money we need and make a difference to hundreds of people.
'In this climate of uncertainty and recession people find if hard digging into their pockets but if they see someone actually wanting to make a difference, hopefully they will feel more generous,' he said.
