Three new GP columns – on the media, CCGs and IT – launching this weekend

Not to be outdone by the launch of the new iPad app, Pulse’s Blogs section has some good news of its own to announce this weekend.

Three new blogs by Dr Martin Brunet, Dr Andy Field and Dr Hadrian Moss will launch on Saturday.

Dr Brunet’s ‘Beyond the Headlines’ takes a hard look at the way GPs have been represented in the media. His latest post covers the way the papers under-report GP success in diagnosing and treating cancer – and if you enjoy his writing, don’t miss older posts on what makes ‘book prescriptions’ really work for depressed patients, and who’s accountable for the public outcry over the Liverpool Care Pathway.

On CCG Insight, meanwhile, Dr Andy Field will be reporting back from his local CCG on the issues – such as planning for sustainable out-of-hours care and campaigning to protect local services – that affect his practice and patients.

And on Inside Information, Dr Hadrian Moss will be providing tips and analysis on the IT stories that most affect GPs. First up: what’s the Calculating Quality Reporting Service, and why is it replacing the QMAS?
