RCGP to move to new headquarters

By Gareth Iacobucci

The RCGP has announced it is to relocate from its current headquarters to a new, state-of-the-art facility in central London.

The College's new headquarters will be in Euston Road, close to Euston Station, and will include a 300-seat auditorium, conferencing facilities, a clinical skills assessment centre, and members' study areas.

The new building - set to open in autumn 2012 - is to be funded by the sale of the College's current headquarters in Princes Gate, near Hyde Park and will not require an increase to members' subscription rates.

The RCGP's London staff will be temporarily moving to interim accommodation in St Katherine Docks near Tower Bridge in August this year.

Dr Colin Hunter, RCGP Honorary Treasurer, said: ‘Our new headquarters in Euston are stunning and will provide fantastic facilities for members. The project represents an unparalleled investment on behalf of our membership and patients and is the realisation of several years' planning.'

‘We will keep college members informed every step of the way, both directly and with information available on our website.'
