A year into her role as GPC Wales chair, Dr Charlotte Jones has already made her mark.
Described by a colleague as a ‘stylish and influential negotiator’, Dr Jones has this year negotiated a contract that included an agreement for GP practices to form clusters to improve co-ordination of care.
The Swansea GP has also proposed a rural practice enhanced service to help isolated practices; has battled to protect dispensing income; and has raised multiple concerns over recruitment and practice closures.
She is happy to be heralded as a leading female in the profession: ‘It is important we represent the wide spectrum of people in general practice. We bring a different dimension to the negotiations and that’s a positive thing.’
