As chairman of the Family Doctor Association and a veteran champion of general practice, Dr Peter Swinyard continues to bang the drum for continuity of care and the more holistic side of primary care.
He’s also unafraid of challenging consensus, is known to have the ear of Andrew Lansley and is sympathetic to the principles behind the health secretary’s NHS reforms.
A GP in Swindon, Dr Swinyard also has a role in assessing LMC motions for the BMA.
