Choose and Book is slow, but a powerful aid

01 Aug 07

I support Choose and Book!

It's slow, maybe. It¹s also new and therefore threatening to GPs definitely.

Nevertheless, this system is a powerful aid to helping our patients.

The choice bit seems irrelevant to me, but secure booking at the point of contact and at practice level certainly is wonderful.

I have not met one patient who opposed the principle that I could find a hospital online and give them up-to-date information on the times of a clinic, facilities and conditions treated, and actually book them an appointment then and there.

I don¹t think you have convinced me that this system is not a practical and possible way to achieve these aims. The faults of the software are being rectified.

The slowness is really irritating but this is mainly because the information that the system can contain is so useful.

Dr Steve Cox, Handcross, West Sussex
